The Battle of Noryang was the final naval battle of the Imjin War, fought as the Japanese fleet attempted to withdraw from Korea following Toyotomi Hideyoshi's death. A combined Korean and Ming Chinese fleet ambushed the retreating Japanese in the narrow Noryang Strait, destroying over 200 ships. Tragically, the legendary Admiral Yi Sun-sin was struck and killed by a bullet during the battle, dying at the moment of his greatest victory.
