The Battle of Baekgang was a decisive naval engagement at the mouth of the Geum River in Korea, where a Tang Chinese and Silla Korean alliance destroyed a Japanese fleet that had come to restore the fallen Baekje kingdom. The Tang-Silla forces destroyed over 400 Japanese ships. The defeat ended Japanese military involvement in Korean affairs for nearly a millennium and solidified Silla's unification of the Korean peninsula.
