The Battle of Guandu was the decisive clash between the two most powerful warlords of northern China at the end of the Han Dynasty. Cao Cao, heavily outnumbered by Yuan Shao's forces, held a fortified position at the Yellow River crossing before launching a daring raid that destroyed Yuan Shao's supply depot at Wuchao. The destruction of his supplies caused Yuan Shao's army to collapse. The victory gave Cao Cao dominance over northern China and was a crucial step in the formation of the Three Kingdoms.
