Frederick the Great executed his famous oblique order attack, concentrating his outnumbered Prussian army against the Austrian left flank while refusing his own left. The Austrians, with nearly twice Frederick's numbers, were rolled up and routed in one of the most brilliant tactical victories in military history. Napoleon later studied this battle and called it a masterpiece of maneuver, resolution, and determination worthy of study for all time.
